Island Bead & Trading Co., formerly Island Bead and Jewelry, is more than just a bead store. Offering beads, findings, classes, stylish comfortable clothing, gifts, and accessories, we are an artisan studio focusing on unique vintage, up-cycled & one-of-a-kind finds. Located just 10 minutes from Riverhead, in historic Eastport, New York, the store is a must-visit for jewelry lovers, designers, and all creative-minded people.
Island Bead and Trading Co. holds “group” classes of 4 or more people at $40 per class per person. These classes are open to anyone. If you want a private class see below. Pick your class, call, or email us with a few dates and times. Call 631.325.2323 to make an appointment. All materials need to be purchased separately at Island Bead at least 30 minutes before class starts. Only materials purchased at Island Bead are allowed to be used for class projects. A $10 deposit is required to save your seat in the class (and can be used towards your materials!) and 24 hours’ notice must be given for all cancellations, otherwise, the $10 deposit will not be returned. Walk-ins are available if there are empty seats, but best to call ahead to verify. If you don't see a class you want to take, just call 631-325-2323 or email us at islandbeadgirl@gmail.com and we will do our best to accommodate your request. $40 Balance due on the day of the class, cash only. The original $10 was credited back to the supplies bought. Private lessons are also available at $50 for the first hour and $ 15 for an extra half hour added on. Private Groups of 4 or more class prices are discounted to $40 per person hour. Extra half hour added on $15 per hour. All class instructor fees must be paid in cash.

Relationship/ Best Friend Bracelet Have you always wanted to make something special for your best friend that both of you can wear to make you smile when you look at it because it reminds you of your special times together? This is the class that will teach you how to create your own custom bracelet using wood, semi-precious, silver, gold crystals or pearls to make two fun stretchy bracelets. Multi Wrap Bountiful Memory Cuff: Create a one-of-a-kind bracelet with a bounty of beads of your choice! Great beginner class. $40 plus materials, 60 mins.
Pearls on Leather Lariat Use pearls and leather to create a versatile multi strand Lariat that can be worn different ways. $40 plus materials.
Multi Wrap Multi Shamballa Bracelet: Love that multiple bracelet look? Then this class is a must! Combine multiple Shamballa tecniques to create a multi wrap, one of a kind bracelet using beads of your choice. Your creation can be worn as a multi wrap bracelet or a beautiful necklace... so versatile! $40 plus materials.
Skinny Cowgirl Cuff: One of our most popular classes. In this class you will make a cuff that wraps once, but can use the technique to make a cuff that is a multi wrap. $40 plus materials for single wrap.
Tranquility Bracelet: Relax your mind and calm your soul - this fabulous bracelet that can be made with a multitude of materials which can dress it up or down depending on your choice of stones. This class is great for beginners and fun for more experienced jewelry designers. It is an easy fun rewarding project! $60 plus materials.
Stackable Stretchy Bracelets: Fun, easy class suitable for beginners. Perfect for a birthday party or girls' night out! $40plus materials.
Shamballa Bracelet: Make a classic Shamballa Bracelet. These bracelets are the Hottest Trend right now. Learn to make them yourself and save big $$. $40.00 plus materials.
Sole Less Sandal: A fun and unique twist on the traditional anklet. Come learn the way to make a pair of this beach fun jewelry!
Beach Wrap: Bring in your beach glass, shells, rocks and other beach treasures and we will teach you how to transform them into beautiful jewelry. We will wrap and create stunning focal points for necklaces, bracelets, key rings, earrings etc…See material list and samples in store $40.00 plus materials. Please bring shells or beach glass you would like to wrap.
Charm Necklace Design: Come learn how to open jump rings to attach charms to findings and chain. Great, east class to take with friends with awesome results! A definite ladies night out class or birthday party.
Wrap/Earrings: It’s all about the head pin and wire. Learn the techniques and fundamentals you’ll need to create custom earrings, beaded chain creations and drop pendants. $40.00 plus materials.
Basic Beading 101: Learn the basics of beading. You will create a simple necklace, bracelet or anklet in this one hour workshop. This is a beginner class. Ages 10 and up. Class size is limited to 5 students. $40. 00 plus materials
Bead Crochet: Learn how to make beautiful beaded jewelry using crochet stitches. Class is 1 1/2 hrs and is $50 plus materials.
Jewelry Design 102: Introduction to jewelry design. A great beginner class! Learn about tools, supplies and basic techniques to make jewelry. This class touches on stringing, crimping, wrapping and knotting. You leave with one completed project and a vast amount of knowledge to get started making jewelry. $40.00 plus materials.
Mermaid Necklace: Learn how to create a one of a kind unique masterpiece using sea glass or shells, complimented by pearls and crystals. Bring your own sea treasures or choose from our offerings. 2 part class $40 each session
Firefly Necklace: Make this Bold, chunky, multi strand, freeform necklace that will have people stopping you on the street asking where you bought it! 2 part class $40 each class plus materials.
Sea Star Earrings: Make these beautiful sea-inspired earrings. Learn to wire wrap jointed earrings. This class can be challenging for beginner wire wrapping students. $40 for one hour, plus supplies.
Ladder Bracelet /Necklace: A fun lesson that will teach you to create a woven, designer look alike, Ladder Bracelet or Necklace with your own taste in mind. Use pearls, seed beads, turquoise, semi precious stones, Czech glass; the choices are endless! $40 plus materials.
Boho Bracelet: Make this beautiful single wrap memory wire bracelet for all your favorite people! This is a fun beginner class. $40 plus supplies.
GIRLS DAY OUT!
Ladies, when was the last time you got together with the girls? Island Bead's got you covered. Pick a day, gather your friends, and for $60 per person, you can choose from our "all included " list of projects or $40 plus materials you can hang in our store and do a project of your choice (2 hours) Light our candles, sip some wine; Island Bead's got you covered. $500 minimum per group. Call the store to set up your date, we'll accommodate your schedule. Birthday Parties Ages 7-17
Come celebrate in style at Island Bead & Trading Co. Birthday Girl gets to enjoy a fun "Birthday Beading Extravaganza" for 1.5 hours with friends. One or two projects will be completed depending on age, project choice & ability levels. $50 per person 1.5 hours $500 minimum 12 kids maximum. Kids 12 and under need and adult to remain at party. Due to layout and merchandise in our shop no food or drink can be brought in for kid parties. We do have a picnic table outside in back that can be used or there’s a Pizza place directly across the street if you want to continue your party there!
