Debbie B. Foglia was born and raised on Long Island, currently residing in Remsenburg, New York. She owns Island Bead & Trading Co. located in Eastport. She graduated from San Diego State University with a B.S. in Fine Art with an emphasis on Painting & Sculpture.
She studied various mediums and methods of art under:
J. Lee Elsbree (Watercolors, Center Moriches, N.Y.)
Howard Rose (Oil Painting, Syosset, N.Y.)
Her biggest inspiration and influence to create art came from her parents Sunny & Lee Bateman. Her mother is an accomplished artist herself and exposed Debbie to many artistic experiences throughout her life. Her Father is a Family Physician and always encouraged her to follow her dreams.
Debbie’s style and subject matter is rich with her emotion and love of life. She is inspired by nature, the sea, animals, and travel. Her use of color and whimsical brush strokes captures her subjects in a playful but structured way.
